Welcome to November!
We all know October was a bad month, and while there's a whole slew of reasons I'm not going to get into part of the reason was that I was holding a few things to make sure November rocked. November 2010 is our reset month.
November is the month I show you the new things BattleCorps will be offering.
By now you've noticed that we've had a nice long run of MilSpec articles in the news section. As those are about to wrap up, you'll see more and varied news articles of a range of topics. We hope to bring you more MilSpec articles in the future as the topics become available.
In fiction, November opens us to the first several stories I asked for from our writers to celebrate the release of Jihad Hot Spots: Terra in hardcopy. Fan-favorite authors Craig Reed, Jason Hansa, Christopher Purnell, Chris Hussey, and Lance Scarinci have all penned exciting tales of the combat on and around Terra near or during it's fall to Devlin Stone's Coalition.
In addition to those stories (and they may not all fit in November!) we'll have the usual scenarios and, if we can make them work, tracks for you to add flavor to your game. I'll be honest and say that track don't lend themselves well to one-off battles, so we're still experimenting with them, but you should see plenty of scenarios.
We're also rolling out the first three special BattleCorps PDF Exclusive projects this month. Each of these ongoing series of projects should repeat every month, giving you another layer of gameplay aids to help make your BattleTech and A Time of War RPG games more fun.
* Unit Profiles: There are hundreds, thousands, of unnamed planetary, ducal, or mercenary units that will not ever, in their wildest dreams, merit inclusion in a Field Manual sourcebook. BattleCorps is pleased to begin offering limited game stats for a sampling of such units, offering players a chance to add more flavor to their games.
* Stable Reports: The Game Worlds of the Inner Sphere are among the most exciting settings to choose from, and many games or RPG campaigns never make it any further than the arenas. As with the Unit Profiles, we're offering sample game stats and fluff history for some of the gladiator stables that have populated the Inner Sphere.
* Ship Profiles: Every warship, wet-navy or black-navy, is a world unto itself, and with these profiles BattleCorps will bring you a snapshot of that community. Samples, with both AT2 or AToW rules, of some of the past WarShips, DropShips, and even JumpShips of the black-ocean navies of the Inner Sphere.
We've got a great many more ideas that we're testing, implementing, and working the kinks out of behind the scenes. 2011 looks to be a great year for both short fiction and game aids, and we want to make sure BattleCorps is an integral part of your BattleTech experience.
