Bribery, Fraud in Arms Sale Case

Сообщение DeJaVu » 22 ноя 2008, 09:30

[29 December 3070; ANN] Police on Novara today arrested an elected representative on grounds of arms trafficking, fraud, and even attempted sedition. Alastair McGinley was arrested in his home, where police found a cache of small arms and explosives, including a large supply of TK assault rifles and the ammunition to support them.
TK’s representative on Novara was also taken into custody for questioning, although no formal charges have been brought. The rifles found at McGinley’s home were still in their original shipping crates with manifests attached. Far from being stolen, the weapons had been purchased on the open market by a representative of McGinley’s who’d purported himself as a representative of the Novaran militia. As McGinley doesn’t sit on the subcommittees that control the militia’s budget, it seems very unlikely that this is the truth.
McGinley has noted sympathies with the Democracy Now! movement that’s been gaining ground on Novara for months. Whether or not that arrest has revealed plans for the moment to move to a more militant stance has not been determined—McGinley has refused to answer any questions related to Democracy Now!. Elector Strauss—a noted member of the Democracy Now! movement, has publicly spoken out against McGinley, trying to distance the movement from these events.
There has been no statement issued by the TK Corporation about the possible illegal arms sale, but if they follow past practices, the Novaran TK factor will most likely be held responsible and further charged with defrauding his employer.
