E-publications are a growing segment and Catalyst Game Labs is aggressively exploring this alternate medium to provide new and exciting content for our communities. At the same time, we want to ensure that brick & mortar stores receive the support they deserve. To accomplish this goal, in 2009 Catalyst became one of the first gaming companies to offer PDFs of our games to retailers to sell through their stores to their customers. An Alpha test of “Catalyst RED” was launched, including a half dozen stores to test this new technology and philosophy.
Catalyst Game Labs has currently closed the Catalyst RED system while we evaluate our data, see what the market is pursing and decide how to move forward in a fashion that’s best for Catalyst, for our games, and for our communities.

!!! В прошлом году CGL создали систему распространения через магазины, сейчас они ее закрывают, мотивируя тем, что им нужно подумать.

Точнее, они попробовали продавать пдф через магазины.
Приходишь в киоск с вархаммером и миньками, а тебе предлагают за 10 баксов накачать ХТРО парочку. Разумеется, клиенты отвечали что у них либо флэшки нет с собой, либо (если есть) они и так уже их скачали.

Да уж, гениальная была идея продавать электронные файлы через магазин.
