WE’RE RUNNING OUT OF FOOD

10 January 3073 FSN is pleased to publish this fifteen-part excerpt of a journal recently unearthed on Kentares, dating from the Kentares Massacre itself. In these dark times, the knowledge that we have always fought against the darkness is comforting as we fight against the encroaching zealotry of the Word of Blake.We’re running out of food.
The kids and families that came with the militia people a few weeks ago brought a lot, pre-packaged stuff from the militia armories. It tastes like cardboard and the lines for the latrine slits are pretty long but it keeps you alive. Water we get from an aquifer that flooded one of the secondary shafts. We’ve got enough purifiers for that.
But we’re still getting hungry. A couple of the women, they make this stew from the leftovers of most anything, and it’ll keep you going for a while—but a week or so and its gone, just hot water with some scraps for color.
Richie got sick, too. That scared me. I mean, he’s our only MechWarrior. If he gets too sick to drive, who’s going to run the Javelin if we need it?
Old Man Fuller is talking about hunting, but we don’t have any bows. And the noise of guns would bring the Dracs, if they’re still around.
And where would they go?
